Barbara Chng Johnson, 40, is a mother of twins but that did not stop her from pursuing her late-found passion for weights and physique competitions. After being inspired by Malaysia’s Lilian Tan, she told herself she will make it to the stage one day. She struggled with her post-pregnancy weight gain of 40kg and finally shed the excess kilos after two years.

Making it to the stage at the 12th South East Asian Bodybuilding Championships was a huge achievement for her and she earned a bonus when she claimed a second place finish at the Women’s Athletic Physique (under 165cm) category. I caught up with her family at East Coast Park and got to meet her lovely pair of twins!
