Thank you for the words of encouragement

It’s been a week since I posted the honest sharing and I am very grateful for all the comments and encouragement. Here are just some of the kind words that I received:

There are many more friends who reached out to me – you know who you are, thank you 🙂

IAN LIM

Dear Cheryl,

I just read your article “Chasing the dream later” and was really moved by your honest sharing about your thoughts and feelings.

I am writing to you as I really want to thank and applaud you for your courage to do so. I have been following your sharings and articles since you started 3 years ago and I admire your courage and envied your success in your achievements in motoring journalism. You have walked a path that many, including myself, didn’t have the courage to .

You weren’t afraid of your relatively youth, nor the seemingly male-dominated field. You weren’t afraid of facing the big names in the media, nor the potential critics who would question your relative inexperience. You have really achieved a great milestone!

Of course, it is definitely not the first time you received these compliments and I am writing not just to tell you that. The key reason for writing to you is to share with you that you are not alone in facing obstacles and problems in your journey of pursuing passion and dreams. In fact, you have spoken my heart and story out as well. I share very similar consequences of our decisions to pursue our passion and dreams and the eventual negative impacts.

TERENCE TAY

Hey Cheryl read your recent article about following your passion. How honest and refreshing! All the best for your future projects. Terence.

BRUNO GILLET

Someone talented and passionate like yourself will always have something coming up. Always look on the bright side of life. If a door closes surely one more will open.

HO MAN TSHENG

A “media” person is a “media” person – working for someone or independently, it is the subject matter that changes. Looking forward to see more of your works in the Fitness sector.

RACHIE TAN

Jia you babe! You can do it!

SYLVESTER LIM

Our best wishes to you. Things don’t always go to the plan, but every endeavour, you learn something and you take it with you. It makes you a better & stronger person. There’s always something better for you over the horizon.

Sad:( but I can only say don’t give up.. There is a business circle.. Ride this one out and you will reap the benefits when it comes roaring back. Heads up! Nothing goes up forever just like nothing stays down forever.

MIKE KOJIMA

I still want to expand MotoIQ into Asia but I can hardly keep up with whats going on here. We should talk more seriously. I wanted to talk to you privately at Formula D last year but I am so busy with Team Falken. Some of our customers have told me that business has picked up in your area. Several people have told me you are the one I should work with.

VANESSA KOH

All the best Cheryl (:

AFIQ ABDULLAH

I will always support you! Your work is amazing! Had a great time working with you a few years back

HONG TSUI

sometimes, certain things go and certain things come…

VICTOR SUE

A great read Cheryl, thanks for sharing those thoughts. If you have, time lets do coffee – I’d love to share my own entrepreneurial journey with you. Hopefully you’ll find some inspriation in it.

CHERYL TAY (not me!)

Wishing you all the best in your future endeavours Cheryl Tay. You’ve achieved a lot in the last few years. Aside from motor sports and health articles, I recall you gave talks to school kids and that’s really commendable. You are a role model to some young girls out there. You are showing them through your own actions, to follow their dreams, challenge themselves and grow as a person. Looking forward to hearing about your future adventures!

BOBBY WONG

don’t lose the fire in you.

MELISSA CHENG

You’ve done excellent work throughout the years since the day I knew you, all which happened through hard work and determination. Go where your heart takes you to. Life’s too short; the important thing is to be happy ya? P.S still waiting for our coffee session.

KHIM SENG CHENG

Appreciate you sharing the thoughts and the situation on things. See you around.

RAINER TENIUS

Dear Cheryl, don’t be too sad, but rather be happy, that for 3 years you were able to live your dream very successfully with plenty of memories! I am very certain that with your determination your next project will be very successful and fulfilling! I wish you every possible success, Cheryl!

Don’t be too sad, Cheryl but be happy that you were able to enjoy three most memorable and successful years, living your dream! I have no doubt that there will be many more happy stories told by Cheryl Tay, the girl who loves cars and motorsports!!! Happy and Healthy Lunar New Year of the Horse!

ANDREW FOWLER

AUSTIN SOUMPH

This article saddens me .. Good luck and have a happy new year!

JIM MOORE

I believe everyone who made the decision to chase their dreams fulltime as had several moments when they hit the pause button in order to gain some perspective through reflection. If living ones dream was easy everyone would be doing it. It takes passion, risk, perseverance… Remember this is the Year of the Horse(power)!

위스 르

At least you tried and doing something u always want to do but its the down side where our local motorsports is not so popular here and our country not very supportive and too many restriction with also affect locals automotive enthusiasm here.

DARREN LIM

Hang in there. Always stay positive

MARTIN RUSSELL HO

Cheryl, all the best! Most importantly, do what you love to do. You’ve inspired me in many ways, both fitness and motorsports.. I hope one day I will be like you in the motorsports industry.. I hope you’ll still be hanging around or else I wouldn’t be able to talk to you as often! Do take care and happy new year!

SHU HATAKEYAMA

Hey Cheryl, I hope things get better and you become happier. Maybe this song might help a little. If you choose, check out the quotes in my profile as well. Thats what I do from time to time. I figure its good to experience bad things in life to help you enjoy and appreciate life more. I am sure you will be fine. Its amazing to see all the support you have from just looking at facebook!

NORMAN JAILLET
